Marriage as God Intended is a place of love, growth and Joy. It takes hard work to grow a healthy marriage, but it’s worth every effort.
My years as a marriage counselor, my observations of seasoned marriages and, my own marriage experiences have taught me the following:
- Your marriage will only grow if you intentionally nurture it and keep it high on your priority list.
- Every marriage goes through major transitions. How you navigate through these transitions will either grow or stunt your marriage.
- Each spouse brings a different conflict management style to the marriage. Growth happens when the two conflict styles are respectfully collaborated.
- By God’s grace, it is possible to turn a marriage around from a broken one to a joyful and healthy one.
Since separation and divorce have become so common, I personally believe every marriage can use a refresher course Why? Because we all change as we grow. Those changes can bring enough shifts that can leave a couple feeling distant and disconnected. A refresher course is a good place to revisit the foundations of your marriage that can help you make deliberate adjustments to accommodate each other.
With that in mind, I have put together a gift for any married couple who needs to boost their relationship with some joy.
Four Pillars of a Joyful marriage, is a summary of principles I learned as a result of conducting premarital sessions and marriage counseling sessions. Put these principles to work and trust God to bring back joy in your marriage.
